What the hell is a king betta?

I bought one at petco for F****** 15 dollars because i thought it looked beasty at fighting.I have regular bettas in my room and noticed that the KING BETTA was F****** huge compared to dem little fighters!!!My brother told me that Kings are alot better at fighting because it doesnt have a long tail which gives them more speed to much on other tails!!
